Calculate
your BMI
BMI can be determined by dividing your weight
in pounds by your height in inches squared and
then multiplying by 705, and is almost always
expressed in the unit kg / m2, which are therefore
often left out.
For example, a person who is 5'8" and weighs
180 Lbs would have a BMI of 27
• Height of 5'8" = 68 inches
• 68 squared = 4624
• 180 divided by 4624= 0.0389
• 0.0389 x 705 = 27.42 (rounded up to a
BMI of 27)
Charts and calculators to determine your BMI are
easily found on most health and diet sites.
